Being a Mother is so Rewarding!

After being shown the proper way to bathe, I decided that I didn't really like the idea of bathing Calvin in the sink. So this morning I ran to target and got a cute little bath that matches the swing and bouncer that we have. It worked pretty well, although Calvin didn't like it that much. Over time, he will learn to love the bath! I love how he smells right after, I just can't put him down.....yeah, spoiled and loved beyond belief!!!!!

(Senor Burrito! Calvin loves the swaddle....it is so adorable! This is one of my favorite pictures to date.)

First time taking Calvin to the Doctors...I decided that if I could, I would hire someone to do this all the time. It was heartbreaking. He had his two week blood work done and the nurse had me hold him while she gathered the needed amount...five minutes later and a terrified baby screaming in my ears, I had tears rolling down my cheeks because I wanted to the pain to go away and stop for him. Besides that, he looked great! He also has gained one pound in the last two weeks. Monitoring his weight and height will be fun!!

Cute cute pictures. Yeah - the dr. visits are bad but it's nice to know that you are able to comfort him after it's all over. I love the Fisher Price rainforest line, I think it's adorable. We have the cradle swing and I've absolutely loved it.

I love the leaf... haha. That is a great bath you bought. I have a similar one, but yours is the best one in my opinion. I'm not a sink bather either - too difficult (compared to the baby baths) and I always feel like a kitchen sink is too dirty for a bath.

Congrats again. Even though it's scary to go to the pediatrician, it's always fun when you get to go for the first time. It's like an initiation into parenting and everyone else in the lobby gets to "ooh" and "aah" at your tiny little guy because their punks are 9 or 11 and annoying now - HA!

Joel and Lila,
You don't know me, but I am Abe Barker's wife, Nicole. Congratulations on the darling little baby boy! I love reading about your experience and seeing all the pictures. What a blessing! Abe and I were wondering if there was any baby items that you were lacking?? I hope that everything is going well with being new parents!!

Holy Moly! I miss a few days of blogging and come back and you have a kid! I was confused at first because I didn't think it could happen so fast. It is SO amazing! I am SO happy for you guys and I'm sure we'll be seeing tons of pictures of this little guy. He is adorable!!

Ummm...I don't want to be the first to give unsolicited advise, but you should only be bathing a newborn 2 or 3 times a week. It can really dry out their skin if you do it everyday. Cleaning their bottoms with a wipe is sufficient for a few days, and if they spit up and their neck smells, you can wipe that out. So, I guess I will just leave this comment anonymous. Then you can't get mad...hehehe

We would love to be back row buddies! I am really loving looking at all the new pictures you have been posting. When Bradley had his first visit and they drew blood I think I may have cried as much as he did. It was terrible! You just love them so much that you would do anything to take away their hurt.

Everyone cries when their babies get shots. I did. At least when Siosi. I have become tougher with Kalo! I love the modesty leaf and towel, by the way.
