(i jotted this down in a few minutes off the top of my head for some reason. afterwords i thought it would make a good post on our blag. it's my first contribution)
i feel conflicted about this election. i'd kinda like to see obama win the democrat nomination just to see hillary lose. i hate her and i'm pretty sure she's a robot. but then it doesnt get any more liberal than barack hussien obama. that guy will ruin our country faster than hillary maybe, and he has no platform whatsoever. he just talks about "hope" and "change" and other vague things like that. course there's always mr. "two americas" himself, john edwards. what a joke that guy is. he's in his billion dollar estate across the street from the "other america", a trailer park, preaching that america will get you down and keep you down. right... and how did you get where you are, mr edwards? inheritence? nope! on the other side of the aisle you have your republicans. whoever wins the nomination will be 50 times better than hussien, hillary, or two-americas. but most of them are so close to great, but then way off at the same time. mccain wants to get tough on terrorists and iran... awesome! oh but he wants to give illegal immigrants more freedoms than we get and he wants to impose a tax on energy sources like gasoline (to help global warming). theres huckabee, he's pretty conservative and he's got chuck norris in his corner, but he's got some checkered past on pardoning hundereds of criminals from jaywalkers to child molesters - and he likes to wonder about whether he's more christian than romney all the time. speaking of romney... yeah he might just be the best republican candidate after all despite his prior liberal leaning on social issues because he seems to be the straightest straight-shooter of the bunch and doesnt currently support anything stupid (that i know of). being lds is definately no reason to consider him the best choice by any means, though. if you need proof of that look no further than the leader of the democrats, dingy harry reid. and lastly rudy, well its just a matter of time before he drops out and good thing too because he's got more baggage than you can shake a stick at. thats the way i see it.

i appreciate your point of view, Joel, thanks for sharing... i'm not joking, someone who knows more about what's going on "over there" than many of us could even hope to really makes me stop and listen.
thanks again!
I agree with your ramblings 100%. I cannot STAND hillary and even more, I cannot stand the people who know nothing about her platform but will vote for her anyways, just to see a woman in office. Same goes for Obama. Many people have no idea what he stands for (nor does he, I'm pretty sure) but they'll vote anyways just to see a black man win. America is so addicted to the notion of a presidential revolution, that many don't seem to care who they put in office. Help us all if the deomocrats win. I vote Romney, but agree it shouldn't be about religion. He truly is the best candidate and did AMAZING things inhis previous office. I think he could do wonders for Americas national debt (as he has politiacal experience in this area) if he gets elected. :o)
Thanks for your ramblings. See you at Easter! Hey, you guys should come to my moms house at Easter. That's an invite. Let me know what you think. :o)
Did you see the Simpsons recently where they voted for Ralph just because they didn't like the other candidates?
I just got my card that says I'm a registered voter in AZ now and it made me think about how I don't know anything about the candidates. Do you know of a good website that breaks down (in a readable format) what each candidate is running for?
try www.ontheissues.org
I havnt surfed that site very much but it looks credible.
and you could try each candidate's own website to see their platform (with the exceprion of obama cause he doesn't have one)
Right on Trey!
I'm so glad a husband finally contributed to the family blog. Great words. You should have done that at BYU's soap box. Do they have one at Ricks? Have you ever heard of Fred Thomspon?...hmmmm...neither have I.
Fred Thompson is pretty good, too bad he doesn't stand a chance.
Joel,
If you push the "shift" button at the same time as a letter, then as a result, you will get a capital letter. You should try it sometime.
Joe you summed it up well! If you hear more let us know. Thanks
