I took this picture this morning at about 6:40am....
It snowed over night, and because of all the snow, the schools have been closed for the day...that means I don't have to go to work today because of the 'weather'. Now I know this isn't the best picture ever, but you will probably notice that THERE ISN'T BUT A TRACE OF SNOW ON THE GROUND...this is exactly how Oregon is...any sign of snow, schools are closed...predicted snow storm a week out, schools are closed...snow like this most times, require chains on the road.
Why you may ask?? BECAUSE OREGON IS RIDICULOUS!
hahahahaha I think it is so funny!
Here is an updated picture...it is now about 7:20am, and you can actually see the snow a little bit better. This shot is from our office.
Here is what it looked liked at 10:00am....

Most recent view of the reason they canceled school today (taken at 11:30am)...what a shame, schools were closed for one of the more beautiful days we have had the last week. Oregon is so weird...

lol- i guess they have to worry about ice or something...
seriously, though, it just looks like the windshields froze.
weak.
Haha. Same goes for Washington - I used to love it back in the day but after spending 4 years in Iceberg ... I mean "Rexburg", I realize how ridiculous it is. Haha!
Can I say, Pathetic? Granted, we had two snow days here in the last two weeks...but the temperature was sub-zero w/o the wind chill. AND today the winds were literally sliding us across the ice - really - I was on recess duty and two kids were lifted up by the wind and dropped on their bums. Even I was being pushed across the ice....but were we let out of school???? NOOOOO!
Even funnier...? When is starts to sprinkle here, all the kids have to have indoor recess, because they might get wet!! And people here can't drive in the rain either. They end up sliding off the road (like there is ice!) because of all the gunk build up on the road, and then it gets wet, and they slide through stop signs and everything!!
Anyway, Washington DC was the same way....frost on the shady side of the parking lot meant no school. And if snow was even predicted...the grocery store shelves were ransacked!! The stores looked like people were afraid that somehow we would be cut off from the universe, and they had stored up for the end of the world. Really dumb.
ummmm how do you comment on that when it has been blizzarding for the past few days with temps reaching -25 f seriously..... yet school must go on!!!! well cheers anyways guess thats what we have to look forward to eh? =D
Yeah, that's about exactly how they react to snow in England as well. Crazy Brits. Now that Paul's lived in Utah for almost 4 years, he knows what a real "snow day" is.
