Calvin...and a family update

Well, today I realized that I haven't been taking as many pictures as a good mother should, so while he was chillin' on the floor, I snapped a few shots. HE IS SO FREAKEN CUTE!! He is six weeks tomorrow and has really started to change this last week, which has been so fun! He is very alert to sounds and lights now, and will lay on the floor for a long time watching one of his toys light up and go round and round. I can put him in his crib and he will stare at the mobile and fall asleep to the music...he is kicking his legs with excitement and is starting to "talk" more as well. We actually had to go buy a few new toys last night because, although he loves laying on his back and looking at the star, he gets frustrated and bored frequently. Another one of his favorite things to do is to stand up...he loves it! He holds his head up really well and without effort, he will just stand on your lap or the floor holding on to a mir finger....it is super fun, except exhausting because really he wants to stand all the time. We need to get an exersaucer for him to play in, and will get him a johnny jump up when we move to Wyoming. He is so cute! Really!! I don't think I can say that enough! One other trick he is starting to master is rolling over from his belly to his back. I have video of it, but the stupid video loader isn't working right now...but, he has rolled over once and gets super close every other time I have him on his belly. It is fun to watch him get frustrated when he can't figure out how to push his legs enough to roll. I LOVE IT! I have been trying to load videos for the last two days, so once the things works again, I will make sure to put them up!

My favorite of this set...

Proof that Calvin has hair...on Sunday I had two people (at totally different times) ask if i shave his head..it was pretty funny because they were totally serious!!

As far as other updates for our family goes...I am doing great. I am trying to work out a routine for Calvin and I during the day, but have yet to figure out what works best. So far today, we woke up for a feeding around 8:00am, went back to sleep until 1030am, and ate again. Played until about 1:00pm and ate again, then went down for a nap at 2:30pm...he is still sleeping now. We will see, I know it is hard to set routines this early, but it will make my life a whole lot easier....and prevent me from getting too lazy! hahaha

Joel is loving being a daddy. He does a great job! His last day of work here in Oregon is on the 25th....he and one of his old mission companions, bought tickets to go to the Oregon Ducks vs. Boise State game in two weeks. He is very very excited, not only for the game but because he is going to take that opportunity to get the last three remaining counties in Oregon that he hasn't geocached in yet. It has been his goal to do that, and since money is a little tight, it is great that his friend is willing to accompany him on this little adventure and double dip.

We are hoping to close on our house the 29th o 30th, so we will probably leave Oregon the 26th or 27th...that way we will be able to spend some time with Joel's family as well.

Our dear friends, Angela and Aaron, are coming to visit us this weekend and i am so excited!!!! Although our time with them will be short, we will spend Sunday at the beach with them and Jake & Becky, and will probably go hiking at Silverfalls on Monday. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

Other than that, my biggest concern is trying to figure out what to do with our turtles..it isn't very easy to move those fellas....i am not against giving them away to a loving family (for cheap cheap cheap) but Joel usn't too excited about that...

My favorite song right now is: Damaged by Danity Cane
Favorite movie right now is: Enchanted
Favorite dessert right now is: Oreo blizzard or Milky way
Favorite saying right now is: "Sad Day.."
(these change weekly, although sometimes daily, but i thought i would share em' with you)

You are a fickle one Lila. I hope you're favorite husband doesn't change daily, weekly, or anytime for that matter. Or Else!
