Wow, I can sew and create things easier than I ever could have imagined....

I finally was able to tap into my creative side and sew some slings/wraps for Calvin to hang out in while I am doing things or going places. I am very proud of myself, actually!

The first sling I made with my good friend, Meredith. She came over and showed me how to sew a sling. I made two of them, each with a different type of fabric. I wasn't wearing it right at first, so I didn't really like it, but now I know how to wear them and it is comfortable and super cute.

SLING #1

These wraps were shown to me by my sister-in-law, MJ. She had sent me the information on how to make them before, but I over looked it....with a friendly phone call as a reminder, I looked at it and feel in love. These wraps are comparable to the "MOBI" slings you can purchase at a store, except they cost almost $60 less to make. For $13 i made four of these wraps. I was looking at the mobi wraps and noticed that they put cute fabric on the front pannel, so I thought I would do the same. I used fleece to help keep Calvin warm when the weather is cold....i think it looks super cute, it was unbelivably comfortable, and very very functional. To see vidoes, find out what you need to purchase and whatever else, go to HERE and browse. It has a link to the YouTube clip that shows you how to tie the wrap around you.

WRAP #2

WRAP #1

This wrap is a little too stretchy, but I was still able to rock out with it while holding Calvin...
I have to find the right tightness to wear it at, but it is good to use in cooler weather

Pretty dang cool! Marnie found the picture last night (with a comment by Melissa) and she was sure Melissa had made them. Are they big enough that you can hold him in them for months to come? I can't even see him in the "rock out" picture!!

Ok so I saw the slide show first with you playing the guitar and holding Calvin in the sling and I thought you were wearing one of those pregnancy bellies at first. ha.

That's awesome! You gotta hook me up with the instructions for those! THey are so cute. I love how you and Calvin match the pattern on the first sling. (Beth C.)
