Since we have moved here, Joel got this crazy idea that he wanted to get at least one geocache in every county in Oregon. Thinking we would probably be here a while, I encouraged him to do this (for the most part)...most of the time, getting a new county was pretty easy since we traveled to Boise frequently. Where there wasn't a cache placed, he placed one...and where there were multiple caches, he got two or three or more. Once we found out that we were moving, the hopes of getting the last three counties that were located in the southwest corner of Oregon became dim. Time and money were not necessarily on our side to permit Joel to have such an adventure before we left...then, I got a briliant idea!! Joel was going to watch Boise State play the Oregon Ducks...the drive to the stadium is halfway to where he needed to go...so I suggested to him that he should just get the counties he needed when he went to the game. He loved it! He talked with Jake (his buddy who was going to the game with him) to see if he would be interested in leaving a day earlier to drive to these counties to get the last remaining caches that were needed. Upon the invitation (and I am sure permission from his wife) he was in. So the guys left Friday morning, drove all over southern Oregon and into California and got what they needed. They stayed the night at Jake's parent's house in Grants Pass, and then Saturday morning left to get one more cache and then headed to the game. They both said that this weekend was one of the best ones they have had in a long while...incase you were wondering, Calvin and I partied at the house the whole time...yep, I mean partied...we stayed up late, didn't get any good sleep and just had so much fun (ok, having fun was a little lie...although we did have fun most of the time, the late night, no sleep thing was pretty frustrating!!) He is getting another cold, as are the two of us, so sleepless nights are deffinately part of that equation...unfortunately.

Congratulations, Joel!
Wow! So how many caches did he get on this week end jaunt? Picture #24 looks like he has a praying mantis in his mouth! And the film canister in the irrigation pipe.....was the picture upside down or was it hanging from the top? So this means he got all of the counties in OR? I had a hard time figuring out the graphs.
